Due to ongoing heavy rainfall across several regions of the trail corridor, multiple stages are currently experiencing unsafe conditions. Our field teams and area coordinators have reported flooding, reduced visibility, and rising water levels in specific sections. Hikers are strongly advised to review the following safety updates before planning their journey.

Closure of Stage 12 – Status Red
Stage 12 of The Pekoe Trail is currently closed due to a potential landslide risk. Our field team and area coordinators are monitoring the location and will continue assessments until conditions improve.
We kindly ask hikers to avoid this stage for the moment and plan alternative routes. We will inform you promptly when Stage 12 is safe to reopen.
Stage 9 – Flooding and Safety Advisory – Status Yellow
Sections around Haritha Kanda are currently flooded following continuous rain. We also advise caution when approaching Jacob’s Ladder, as conditions are slippery and visibility may be low.
We do not recommend hiking Stage 9 solo at this time.
Stage 14 and 15 – Heavy Rain and Mist – Status Yellow
Both stages are experiencing misty conditions and persistent rainfall, which may affect visibility and footing. Please hike with caution and be prepared for wet, slippery terrain.
Stage 19 – Rising Water Levels at Suspension Bridge – Status Orange
Water levels near the suspension bridge have risen significantly. For safety reasons, the organization does not recommend hiking Stage 19 solo until conditions improve. Your safety is our priority. Please plan your hikes carefully and follow updates from The Pekoe Trail Organization.
