Support the Pekoe Trail Communities After the Cyclone Ditwa.

The recent cyclone has brought difficult days to Sri Lanka’s Hill Country, and many of the communities connected to The Pekoe Trail have felt the impact directly. Our team has been on the ground throughout the week, walking stages, meeting local coordinators and partners, and gathering verified information. We want to share an honest update with you and invite you to support the recovery efforts now underway.
Community Impact
Families living along the trail have been affected in many ways. Some have damage to their homes. Others are facing interruptions to transport, electricity or water. Several trail side businesses and worker communities have also lost income during this period.
Our Area Coordinators and estate managers are helping us identify the villages that need assistance first. The wellbeing of these communities is closely tied to the recovery of the trail itself, and they remain our priority.

How You Can Help?
We are opening a call for support to help both the people affected and the trail.
Your contribution will support:
• Relief and essential supplies for impacted families
• Clearing debris and fallen trees
• Repairing footpaths and stabilizing slopes
• Restoring access roads to trailheads
• Repainting and reinstalling trail markers
• Supporting workers and small businesses along the trail
• Conducting safety inspections before stages reopen
All proceeds will go directly toward community assistance and essential trail recovery. We will also share a transparent breakdown of how every contribution is used.
If you prefer to donate items, you may drop them off at The Pekoe Trail office in Nawala, where they will be sorted and delivered through verified channels.

Donate to the Official Fundraiser
Although some parts of the trail have been hit hard, many sections will be hikeable again soon once our teams complete their assessments.
If you would like to support the trail and the communities who depend on it, the official Pekoe Trail Organization fundraiser is now open.
Your kindness will help families rebuild, support workers who keep the trail alive, and restore the path to safe hiking conditions.
Thank you for standing with us during this challenging time.
