Explore Sri Lanka, off the beaten path.

The Pekoe Trail is a 300 kilometer, carefully curated long distance walking trail that winds through the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, one of Asia’s best kept secrets.

Across 22 stages, the trail takes you through some of South Asia’s most striking mountain landscapes, lush tea country, and rich ecosystems. Along the way you meet the communities who live on the trail and experience their traditions, hospitality, and culture, which makes every stage both meaningful and adventurous.

Recognised globally as one of the world’s top hiking experiences, the Pekoe Trail blends natural beauty, cultural depth, and real adventure. With TPTO as its steward, the trail sets a new benchmark for responsible trekking and continues to redefine Sri Lanka as a must visit destination for hikers and nature lovers.

Values

The Pekoe Trail is a canvas that connects and collaborates with public and private partners, communities, and travelers. TPTO stewards this network to keep the trail authentic, responsible, and meaningful for everyone along the trail.
